How to upgrade cfx 9850 G to enable assembler programming

1. Be sure you have cfx 9850 G calculator type and you really want to do it. Do it on your own risk !

2. Remove the ROM chip from your calculator and read the data stored here. You should have 512 KB large file, save it as ROM9850G.ROM.

3. Run my CASIO ROM upgrade program : caspatch  ROM9850G.ROM  NEWROM.ROM

4. Write this file NEWROM.ROM in new ROM chip (it must be the same type as the original one).

5. Store the new ROM chip in your calculator.

If my patch failed, you probably have different version of ROM. In this case you must change you ROM manually, or you can send me you ROM if you want, so I will be able support your version too.

I cannot help you with the hardware problem, that can occure. I am not hardware hacker, I haven't upgraded my ROM myself. Ask my friend Petr,  who has solved the hardware part of this task for me. He probably will help you :-)))
