ALGEBRA FX 2.0

General info about ALGEBRA FX 2.0:

• monochrome display 128x64 pixels, 21x8 characters

• 256 KB RAM

• 4MB ROM

• 1MB Flash

• Unicode (character prefixes 0xF6 and 0xF7)

• 1021 tokens (prefixes 0x7F,0xF7 and new 0xF8)

• cannot communicate directly with cfx9850G

• COM 38400 bps

• full complex numbers

• corrected some bugs from cfx9850 G

  • Lbl 0:While 0:Goto 0:WhileEnd  is OK (It causes neverending uninterruptible loop (TUHON) on 9850G)
  • Lbl 0:If 1:Then Goto 0:IfEnd is OK (It causes IF-stack overflow on 9850G)
  • Corrected bug of skipping in next file, if file ends by Dsz <var>, and the variable was 0 after executing this command

• added some new bugs: ;-)

  1. Try to execute ClrText:Locate 1,1,"Then"  and it will be displayed "Then f" on the first row

  2. Write some program in BASE-N and then run it in another program, which is written in COMP mode - Go ERROR

  3. 0xFF character is zero length token

  4. This model stores all data from the beginning of RAM, so if you have a lot of memory used by matrix then typing files is very slow

  5. Cannot delete alpha memory (variables A~Z)

  6. Tutor can solve only very limited sorts of equations, also I don't know why there is a tutor lock. I think, who is not able to solve these equations with this calculator but without tutor, he /she would not be able to solve it with tutor.

  7. Cannot use CAS in programs (TI's calculators allow it)

  8. Still NO string support (TI's calculators allow it)

  9. Still NO assembler support (TI's calculators allow it) - there is a possibility of running assembler written software without changing ROM - using FLASH, but it's only a theory now

  10. Still limited range of numeric values (-9.999e99~9.999e99)

  11. I can create 5 matrices 100x30 (~100x150), but I cannot create one matrix 100x100

• Clipboard - which is not working in BASE-N

• EMS not supported (No arrays)

• XMS support not known yet

• Very little slower than cfx9850 (1024->I:Lbl 0:Dsz I:Goto 0)

Calculator contains new system tools ZX945 TEST MODE, the number 111 in the left bottom corner says, that function keys F1,F2 and F3 are working.

The F1 key runs special routine, which allows you to see all characters in text mode, if you enter F6 or F7, the right bracket will jump right to allows you enter unicode character. Try to enter for example F6E7.

The F2 key runs very similar routine as F1 key, but it shows graphic font without unicode support (or I didn't find it).

The F3 key runs message viewer - you can here see all messages in all standard languages (English,Spanish,German,French and Italian)

To exit ZX945 test mode press [0] (to reset) but then press [F6] (not to reset)

Do not run RAM test [7] - this will clear all RAM.

Do not run Service [+] - initialize FLASH - this will clear all FLASH

My memory tests (which also cause reset) report:

• ROM Version 1.01, 4MB, SUM:782165CB
• FLASH 1MB
• RAM 256kB

Information for users, who want to run programs written for cfx9850G on ALGEBRA FX2.0

• Cannot set Range (ViewWindow) to have the same coordinates for PlotOn and PxlOn
• Commands for color (Green,Orange) are ignored
• tokens f1~f6,File1~File6,List1~List6,=> are partially supported - they are not on the keyboard, but if they are used in some program transmitted in the calculator, they will work
  • f1~f6 tokens are replaced by two byte command fn, so now f1 should be writen as fn1 (2 more bytes, but calculator supports now fn1~fn20)
  • File1~File6 are replaced by  File (+ number-1 more byte)
  • Similar situation is in the List case
  • => token should be rewriten using If-Then-EndIf sequence - many more bytes
